The swim start this morning was great, even a bit of sun on the whitecaps of Lake Coeur d'Alene. On Independence Point dock with fire and sheriff department people and Mayor Bloem and Jonathan Coe of the Coeur d'Alene Chamber was a great vantage point. Former city councilman and Ironman Chris Copstead was watching the action from the dock this year. Fire Chief Kenny Gabriel and his mother, Jeannette were enjoying the brisk morning. Met the family of Dr. Grant Smith of Arizona in some super shirts. See www.grantpatricksmith.com for an interesting bio on one of the athletes.
