Coeur d'Alene is known amongst Ironman competitors as having the best and most enthusiastic volunteers on the Ironman circuit. Over 3,000 local people volunteer in dozens of capacities over several days. On Tuesday night at the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, local businessman and good guy Dave Walker received the 2009 Ironman Volunteer of the Year Award. What an honor!Dave is pictured with Heather Fuhr, a former professional triathlete who now heads up the VIP team for Ironman.
Thanks for the shoutout, Kerri. I was just one of many, many wonderful people who put time in to AGAIN make IM CdA a success. It's pretty special when people from around the world say your home town is their favorite IM venue.
