Jonathan Coe, center, has spent a decade at the helm of the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce. Now he's heading off to Santa Rosa, California to begin a new adventure with that chamber of commerce. Wednesday evening dozens of Chamber and community members attended a farewell reception. Pat McGaughey preceeded Jonathan as the Coeur d'Alene Chamber president and as Post Falls Chamber executive director I worked with both in the 1990s. Kerri, we did awesome work in our time taking our chambers to much higher levels. Then Jonathan Coe came along and dwarfed all that success. (As he should have!) He is following two icons in the chamber industry (Keith Woods and the late Mike Hauser) but fortunately doesn't have to fill their shoes simply because he walks very well in his own shoes thank you very much. He set a new benchmark here and I only hope the next person will dwarf the work Jonathan and his volunteers have done for all of us.
