Memory Lane

I saw this in front of an old house on N. 15th Street (a few blocks north of Best Ave.) in Coeur d'Alene. Couldn't make out all of the words but it looked very familiar to me. Any of you long timers in the area recall what business this ball used to advertise?

  1. I think it was TV and small appliance repair. After being out of the area for 25 years, I was quite suprised to still see it up!

It was right next door to me. It was Gene's TV repair. He fixed a couple of my TV's. I lived in the duplex on the corner two doors to the north of him. He was a really neat guy and was one of the Shriners who heped get my daughter Gwendolyn into the Spokane Shrine Hospital.

Wow! We have a winner in under 5 minutes. My facebook/real life friends are the best. :)
    Where was Gene's located?

My duplex was on the Northwest corner of 15th & Stiner and there was 1 house between him and me heading to the south.

If you saw it on 15th, it's probably still on his property. He was in his 40's when I met him in 1982. Very, very, very, nice gentleman!

Then that's where it still hangs. The house is in disrepair and not even sure it's still occupied. I wonder if Gene's still around.

This was just a few blocks from where I grew up. I remember it well!

The house was in disrepair in 1982 and was filled with old TV's stereos, anything electronic.

The "Hot Rod Magazine" van was a fixture of the driveway for some time in the 90's as well.

    Hey I remember that.

Don't know the first word but that sign has been there for at least 35 years or so. Gene's TV Repair

My grandparents lived just a block or two down Gilbert -- right behind Sunset Field (and the old Hank's Store). It was there when we were kids, but it looked a little nicer back then...

Hank's little store... now that's a fun memory! Those were the days when you could buy a piece of penny candy and actually PAY a penny! ha ha

Yep... penny candy rocked back then... and ice cream bars for 25 cents. Ahh, those were the days...
