On Monday my sister, Janna Scharf provided a tutorial to a couple of apprentice gingerbread artists at her Hayden home. I'm more of a decorating Christmas cookies kind of gal so this was way beyond my holiday artistry skill set. Fellow pupil John Hough (pictured) jumped in to create Santa's house. Me? I'm now the landlord of a chocolate river rock cottage, complete with bluebirds of happiness in the tree and on the mailbox. To see the process and finished houses click HERE.

Gingerbread House 101

Kerri, I have helped HUNDREDS of people build their first gingerbread house and I can honestly say that yours is right up at the top with the best!
